L7 is a Software Soluton Provider who provides network-based Firewall, VPN, Antivirus, IDS, Content Filter, Bandwidth Management, and Load Balancer systems for real-time network protection. L7 has gathered the best of the breeds from many security programming contests, including the championship and the 4th prize of the TrendMicro programming contest.

Who started L7, and how long has the company been in business?

L7 Networks Inc. was founded in Sep. 2002 by a group of MS. and PhD. members from the High Speed Network Laboratory in National Chiao Tung University. L7 has won the 4th Technology Innovation Contest (TIC100) held by the Advantech Corp. and the National Business Start-up Award 2002 held by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, R.O.C. After that, L7 was invested by the D-Link Group (Taipei IPO: 2332), the ZyXEL Group (Taipei IPO: 2391), and the Advantech Group (Taipei IPO: 2395). The chairmen of D-Link, ZyXEL, and Advantech are all graduated from National Chiao Tung University. Until now, L7's RD members span from UCLA, National Taiwan University, National Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua University, and Chung Hwa University.
